PRPA Annual Outing

The 2025 PRPA Outing will be held in the Shaunavon at the Canalta Hotel on June 20-22, 2025.

SATURDAY TOURS

There are two tours planned for Saturday.

1) Ghost towns and abandoned farmyards plus amazing prairie scenery. Our tour guide will be Colin Chatfield of Saskatchewan Aurora Hunters, who knows the area well. He will also be our guest speaker Saturday evening.

2) Shaunavon architectural history. We start at the Grand Coteau Heritage & Cultural Centre which has an art gallery and natural history museum. We will get a guided tour of historical buildings in the town of Shaunavon, including the Grand Hotel under restoration. If we need more time we can finish the self-guided walking tour on Sunday morning before heading home.

REGISTRATION

We were able to keep the costs down for this Outing. The registration fee is only $125 (plus $20 for two breakfasts for anyone not staying at the Canalta).

The registration form is also attached with the emailed Prairie Focus and a paper copy will be enclosed with mailed copies of the newsletter. It’s also available on the PRPA website.

ACCOMMODATION

Canalta offers the meeting room free with a minimum of 10 rooms booked. The Canalta rooms are reasonably priced at $154 + taxes a night for up to 4 occupants. We have reserved 12 rooms - call 1-306-297-2595 to book and mention “PRPA group block” for the discounted price.

MEALS

Friday supper is on your own (Subway is within walking distance of the Canalta). Breakfasts are supplied by Canalta (free for guests staying in the hotel). A bagged lunch is provided for the Saturday photo shoot tours so we can be gone all day. The bagged lunch and Saturday banquet supper
